How Yoga is different from exercise??

Yoga and exercises are both forms of physical activity, but they have some key differences.

1. Yoga is a practice that originated in ancient India and typically involves a combination of physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation. The goal of yoga is to improve strength and flexibility, as well as to promote a sense of inner peace and well-being.

Exercises, on the other hand, are specific physical activities that are done to improve fitness, strength, and health. Examples of exercises include weightlifting, running, swimming, and cycling. The goal of exercises is to improve physical fitness and health.

2. Another key difference between yoga and exercises is the pace and intensity. Yoga is often practiced at a slower pace with longer holds in postures, while exercises tend to be more fast-paced and intense. This means that yoga is generally considered to be a low-impact form of physical activity.

While exercises can be high-impact and may put more stress on the joints.

3. Yoga also places a strong emphasis on proper alignment and form, which can help to prevent injury. Many yoga poses require balance and stability, which can improve overall balance, coordination and stability of the body.

Exercises, on the other hand, may focus more on strength and endurance, and may not place as much emphasis on alignment and form

4. Yoga when performed with breathing consumes less oxygen, less calorie and saves energy.

While exercises consumes more oxygen, more calorie and energy.

5. Yoga postures leads to muscle strengthening.

While exercises tones the muscles.

6. Yoga practice require less equipment compared to exercises.

7. There is no age and health restrictions for Yoga practitioner while exercises have restrictions.

While yoga and exercises both have their own unique benefits, they can also complement each other well. Yoga can help to improve flexibility and balance, while exercises can help to build strength and endurance. Many people choose to incorporate both yoga and exercises into their regular fitness routine to achieve a well-rounded and balanced approach to their physical and mental well-being.

In summary, Yoga is more of a holistic practice that focuses on both physical and mental well-being, while exercises are specifically designed to improve physical fitness.
